The countdown is on!
Private Financial Group (PFG) and the Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor Essex County Branch, are just days away from hosting a powerful event dedicated to men’s mental health. Co-hosted with Landscape Effects Group of Companies (LFX), this evening promises to be a transformative experience for the Windsor community, sparking meaningful conversations and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health.
Set for the evening of October 9, 2024, at the Serbian Centre in Windsor, this event will feature Corey Hirsch – Olympic silver medalist, former NHL goaltender, and renowned mental health advocate. Corey’s story of resilience and advocacy has inspired countless individuals across North America.
Now, it’s Windsor’s turn to hear his compelling message.
But the event goes beyond simply hearing Corey’s keynote address. Attendees will have the chance to participate in discussions, access mental health resources, and contribute directly to local mental health initiatives through fundraising efforts. The goal is to inspire change and make a lasting impact on the lives of men and families in our community.
The reality is stark: males account for more than 75% of suicides in Canada, and men are around three times more likely to experience addiction and substance abuse. Factors like educational drop-out, unemployment, and loneliness disproportionately affect men and boys, leading to higher rates of mental health issues.
Which is why Pete Dobrich, founder of PFG, believes that now is the time to act.
Tickets for the event are a $25 tax-deductible donation and will support local mental health services, ensuring those in need have access to vital care.
